Both of these pieces are hanging in the CMLC office in the old St. Louis Hotel.
EAST VILLAGE RIVER WALK MOONLIGHT
Both paintings are 2' x 4' painted on wood canvas. I used acrylic paint, ink, collage and resin. I did a lot of photography and sketching on site before painting the pieces.
When I first got to Calgary in 2003, I was painting the places of Mission district (4 st SW). I was living there so I could sketch, paint and photograph the area every day. Now I do the same in the East Village. It takes a long time for me to get to the painting stage in my cityscapes. I play around a lot with sketching and photography first. Putting things to scale are not important - rather including all the elements in a scene that give a mood and a feel to a place.

great connector of people, places and dreams. It speaks the language of the heart when it is authentic and created from an open and non-judgemental space. It is passionate pursuit of creation with a playful mind.
